Together on the Way

On May 8th, the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, our community celebrated a joyful event. Three companions have chosen to share their lives with us and to connect to our charism and mission where they live and work.

"It is a special image, that of the Good Shepherd," explains Sister Angela in her speech during the evening prayer time, in which Kathrin makes her promise as a companion and Dagmar and Sonja renew their promises. The image of the Good Shepherd is an important one in the Gospel, reminding us of Jesus' care for us humans. “Jesus compares himself to the shepherd who knows his sheep and cares for them. And no one will snatch them from his hand.”

During Vespers, the Church's evening prayer, they made and renewed their promises in front of the Superior General, Sister Rita-Maria Käß, and the assembled community of Rita Sisters.

During the dinner that followed in our dining room, there was a special surprise for all the Sisters and guests present: everyone was able to take home a blooming rose as a gift and let it remind them of this festive day for a long time to come.
