We Rita Sisters belong to the Augustinian Order. Our religious father Augustine searched for God throughout his life, together with others who lived in community with him. Living together in harmony, praying together, and allowing God to touch one another in silence was essential to Augustine. Every year on August 28th, we celebrate St. Augustine of Hippo (354-430 AD). This year, we also observed a second special occasion. Our fellow Sister Katharina-Elisabeth Glombik renewed her profession for another three years. At the celebratory service, Pastor Dr. Roland Baule describes Moses' first encounter with God in his sermon on the story of the burning bush (Ex 3.1 to 4.17). Pastor Baule reminded us that God makes himself known to us as human with Jesus. "Looking for God and reaching out for him is worth it," said Pastor Dr. Roland Baule. After all, Saint Augustine was also a seeker of God. After a moving sermon, Sr. Katharina-Elisabeth renewed her promise to be part of the community of the Rita Sisters and thus live according to the Gospel under the Rule of St. Augustine. The Augustinian Feast 2023 was rounded off with a subsequent reception and a joint lunch.
