Ritaschwestern Würzburg News

On February 10, 2019 in the Sisters of St. Rita  said “good bye” to the Würzburger Steinbachtal. Domkapitular Dietrich Seidel celebrated the Sunday Mass at the Church of St. Bruno, together with Pastor Wolfgang Bier and Pastor Karlheinz Frühmorgen; also Deacon Toni Barthel was there, along with a stately crowd of Altar servers, a choir directed by  Dr. Daniel Zeller and Dr. Klaus Kemmer at the church organ.
Superior General Schw. Rita-Maria Käß reminded all of blessed contacts of the Sisters of St. Rita with the parish of St. Bruno since 1936. For more than 80 years, the House Marienfried, Mittlerer Dallenbergweg, has been a resort for the Sisters, a house of silence and contemplation; a place for people looking for a retreat, as well as a residence for female students. For ten years many groups and individuals have visited the Ritaweg in the Convent garden.
From 1957 to 1995 there was also the Convent of St. Bruno. In addition, the House Anna Rosa, Mittlerer Steinbachweg, was a spiritual cell for the Sisters of St. Rita from 1999 to 2006. In total, 57 Sisters of the community lived and worked in the Steinbach valley. They took care of the kindergarten, the Augustinian household, the sacristy, and Pastoral care.
Superior SR. Carmen Fuchs, Sr. Gerlinde Schraut, Sr. Christophora Liebl and Sr. Ruth Anna Schäbler were the Sisters of St. Rita in the now dissolved Convent Marienfried. They said goodbye to the congregation with personal words and wished everyone God's blessing and guidance. With the song "Go under grace, go with God's blessing” the service ended.
A detailed article with the sermon from Domkapitular Seidel and the farewell speech by Sr. Rita-Maria can be read on the homepage of the Ritaschwesten under "News". (In German)
